Whether you’re trying to lose weight or cut down on sugar, switching from regular sodas to sugar-free varieties is, on the face of things, an obvious first step to take.
I know, some of you will say:”but zero calorie drinks are full o artificial sweeteners that harm more than doing good”.
The latest research proves that artificial sweeteners are dangerous in quantities that you can’t even attain. And because of their sweeten power, you need a very small quantity of sweetener, to have a sweet diet soda or a sweet tea.

Let’s say you consume soda almost regular. Let’s say, you drink 1l of soda/day. The difference is incomparable. If the juice is sweetened with sugar you consume 470 calories only from a bottle of juice. If is sweetened with aspartame for example, is under 5 calories/1l, I mean you don’t even have to track them. Is 465 calorie difference, which means a lot!
If you’re still in doubt with artificial sweeteners, watch the video below:
There have been done many researches about diet soda vs normal soda and which one makes you fat. Some of them we’re done with a high number of patients (30k, 16k, 10k) and some of them that we’re controlled studies but with a small number of people (around 7-8 thousand), separated in two groups( A and B).
Group A, was tested with 1000kcal intake with diet sodas, and group B, was tested again with 1000kcal intake and normal sodas, but calories coming from soda we’re included into those 1000kcal and same level of activity. This study shown that there isn’t any difference in losing fat, as long as calorie we’re the same.
Conclusion from this study is very simple, if you lift, but you want to keep your social life and lose fat in the same time, choose a diet soda, because it will save your calories for something much better!
In fact WHO (World Health Organization) conducted ton o researches from 2013 till 2016 and they found that artificial sweeteners, are a safe way to substitute sugar.
